Master Series Adjustable Steel Spreader Bar with Cuffs
8.0/ 10

Our verdict

A proper piece of kit at a fair price. The adjustable width makes it far more versatile than fixed bars, and the included cuffs are usable rather than decorative.

What we liked

  • +Adjusts across three widths with locking pins
  • +Solid steel — no flex under resistance
  • +Padded velcro cuffs included
  • +Breaks down for storage and travel

What we didn't

  • Velcro cuffs are the weak link
  • Pins require two hands to change
  • Cold to the touch at first

First impressions

Two steel sections that slide and lock with spring pins, finished in matte black. The cuffs are neoprene-lined and attach with metal clips.

How it performs

At full width it holds legs firmly apart with zero flex in the bar. The cuffs stayed closed under genuine resistance, though determined twisting can eventually work the velcro loose.

Storage

Collapses to 23 inches and slides under a bed easily. The steel wipes clean; the cuffs hand-wash and air-dry overnight.
