Coco de Mer Seraphine Chemise Review: Silk That Justifies the Price
Cut from real silk with hand-finished lace, the Seraphine is the rare chemise that looks better on the body than on the hanger.
Tested for 4 weeks · Published September 14, 2026

Our verdict
A special-occasion piece that feels like one. The bias cut flatters more figures than structured lingerie, and the construction should survive years of careful wear.
$195–$215
Typical US price at The Pleasure Chest
What we liked
- +Bias-cut silk drapes beautifully
- +Adjustable straps for real fit control
- +Leavers lace, not scratchy mesh
- +True to size with forgiving drape
What we didn't
- −Dry clean only
- −Silk snags on jewelry
- −Limited size range
First impressions
The silk is a heavier weight than fast-fashion versions, which is why it skims rather than clings. Stitching at the lace joins is clean with no loose threads anywhere on our sample.
How it fits
The bias cut means it works with your shape instead of demanding one. Our two testers — sizes 6 and 12 — both found their usual size flattering, though taller wearers may find the hem short.
Living with it
Dry cleaning is the honest cost of real silk. After a month of careful wear and one clean it looks untouched, but keep rings and bracelets away from the fabric.
